ELSEWHERE — The Parts of Us Nobody Meets | OIRYN’s New Album

Sep 15, 2026 · By Mohamed Yassin

There are parts of you that nobody has ever met. ELSEWHERE, the new eight-track album from OIRYN, is a self-portrait of the unlived, imagined, doubted, lost and almost-forgotten parts of ourselves. Arriving 29 November 2026.

ELSEWHERE

The parts of us nobody meets.

There is a version of you that exists only when nobody is looking.

Not a secret version.

Not necessarily a better one.

Just the one that remains after the conversations end, the doors close, and there is nobody left to explain yourself to.

It remembers things that never happened.

Misses people who never existed.

Still wants things you no longer want.

Questions things you were certain about five minutes ago.

And sometimes, without warning, it remembers an ordinary afternoon from twenty years ago and realizes:

that was the last time.

Maybe this is the person we spend our whole lives trying to understand.

Maybe this is ELSEWHERE.

A Self-Portrait Without a Mirror

We usually build a portrait from what can be seen.

A face.
A name.
A profession.
A family.
The things achieved.
The places lived.
The years survived.

But remove all of that...

what is left?

Perhaps the more interesting portrait begins there.

Because a person is not made only from what happened.

We are also shaped by what almost happened.

By the person we nearly became.

By dreams that arrived after we stopped dreaming them.

By conversations that happened entirely inside our heads.

By words someone said years ago that eventually learned to speak in our own voice.

By moments so ordinary that we failed to notice they were disappearing.

And perhaps by all the things we feel deeply...

but never find a reason to say aloud.

That is the territory of OIRYN's second album.

ELSEWHERE.

Eight songs.

Not eight chapters of one story.

Eight doors into the same human being.

01 — I MISS WHO I NEVER WAS

There are places I remember
that I have never been.

Lives I can almost see
that I never lived.

Sometimes the unlived life becomes so familiar that losing it feels strangely like grief.

Can we miss someone we never became?

02 — I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME

The car has stopped.

The engine is off.

Home is a few steps away.

Nothing is wrong inside.

And still...

the door remains closed.

Because sometimes we don't want to leave our life.

We just want ten minutes in which our life doesn't need us.

03 — A FEW MOMENTS AGO

Childhood can feel closer than last Tuesday.

Twenty feels like yesterday.

Yesterday doesn't.

Nobody feels the years passing one by one.

We simply look away...

and somehow become the person we once thought was far in the future.

When did all this time happen?

04 — AFTER THE FEELING WAS GONE

Some dreams take years to arrive.

And when they finally knock...

the person who used to wait behind the door may no longer be there.

The achievement is real.

The gratitude is real.

But so is the silence where excitement used to be.

Perhaps dreams can come true...

and still arrive too late.

05 — WHERE I AM KNOWN

There are people nobody else can meet.

They exist in conversations that leave no sound behind.

They know when to speak.

When to stay quiet.

When to hold us.

They never misunderstand what we meant.

We know they aren't real.

But the comfort is.

So perhaps the more difficult question is:

How unreal can something be if what it makes us feel is real?

06 — DON'T NEED ME TONIGHT

Some people become the place everyone else comes to when something breaks.

They know how to answer.

How to carry.

How to remain standing.

And perhaps strength has one particularly private loneliness:

people become so accustomed to leaning on you...

they forget you have weight too.

Sometimes love doesn't need to rescue us.

Sometimes it only needs to hear:

Don't need me tonight.
Just stay.

07 — MAYBE THEY'RE RIGHT

Certainty can disappear very quietly.

An idea feels right.

Then someone questions it.

So we look again.

Sometimes looking again makes it better.

Sometimes we keep touching it until we can no longer recognize what was ours.

The frightening part is not being wrong.

We are all wrong sometimes.

The frightening part is hearing doubt so often that eventually...

it no longer needs another person's voice.

08 — THE LAST TIME

The last times rarely look like endings.

Nobody announces the last time your father will carry you.

The last evening childhood friends will all go home and somehow never gather there again.

The last coffee.

The last joke.

The last ordinary goodbye.

Perhaps life keeps these things secret for a reason.

Because if we knew...

we might stop experiencing the moment and begin mourning it before it had even gone.

Maybe not knowing is not cruelty.

Maybe it is mercy.

And Maybe This Is Elsewhere

Eight songs later, there is still no complete portrait.

Perhaps there shouldn't be.

Because maybe we have been looking for ourselves in the wrong place.

We look in photographs.

Achievements.

Relationships.

Mistakes.

Memories.

The person in the mirror.

But some part of us is always somewhere else.

With the person we never became.

Inside the car for ten more minutes.

Back in a year that somehow feels like yesterday.

Waiting for something we no longer want.

Talking to someone nobody else can see.

Wanting to be held instead of needed.

Standing between certainty and doubt.

Or unknowingly living something...

for the last time.

Perhaps ELSEWHERE is not a place we disappear to.

Perhaps it is the name for everything inside us that never completely disappears.

The unlived.
The unsaid.
The imagined.
The doubted.
The lost.
The still-loved.
The almost-forgotten.

All the invisible evidence that we were here.

And maybe that is the closest thing to a self-portrait we will ever make.

OIRYN — ELSEWHERE

Eight songs. One invisible self-portrait.

29 November 2026

Music that slows time.

Perhaps ELSEWHERE is not a place we disappear to. Perhaps it is the name for everything inside us that never completely disappears.
